Hawk® JAWS versus Lumenis® VersaCut prostate morcellation devices: A comparative study and comprehensive literature review

Objective: Although morcellation is a standard procedure of Holmium Laser Enucleation the Prostate (HoLEP), studies on morcellators used are limited in number. We aimed to compare two different tissue HoLEP, which have similar objectives but differences efficiency and safety working principles. Material Methods: The data 130 patients who underwent HoLEP between December 2018 2019 were retrospectively reviewed. Sixty-five received Lumenis® Versacut (Lumenis Inc., Santa Clara, CA, USA) morcellator 65 Hawk® JAWS (Hawk, Minitech Co., China) after enucleation included study. (g/min), time (min), total operation enucleated weight (g), enucleation, densities removed prostate tissues, perioperative complications associated with use recorded perioperatively. Results: There was no significant difference (g/min) morcellation, (min) groups. Bladder mucosal damage occurred 3 (4%) group, while bladder not observed any patient group (p = 0.08). Conclusion: VersaCut comparable their safety. Keywords: Hawk, morcellator, Versacut.
